As we head into the Fall season, final preparations for crush (aka The Winemaker’s Ironman) are underway. We are completing bottling projects, testing equipment for the upcoming harvest, and ordering fermentation supplies for the 2022 vintage.

2022 marks another fascinating year for grape-growing.  Record rainfall, followed by a cool spring.  A statewide frost event in April led to crop losses for many Oregon vineyards.   We feel fortunate that we had no personal losses, but growers we contract with may not have fared so well.  In spite of markedly warmer temperatures in the past few months, the growth of our plants are lagging by a few weeks.  The annual excitement and anticipation of all the fruit ripening and being harvested prior to the rainy season begins!

If you’re wondering what to do with your free time during these lovely summer days, consider a trip to the winery.  The patio is open with comfortable seating to enjoy the coastal breezes under provided shade.  The scenery is breathtaking, from the vineyard itself to the coastal range, as well as views looking eastward.

We have events upcoming at the winery, see the website or contact our staff for details.

And finally, we have sold through our Marechal Foch and Willamette Valley Pinot Noir.  Come enjoy a taste of our new vintages!

Cheers,

Andreas
